But first, a late entry to last week’s post about comedy, connecting, yada yada.

Yes, some legends including Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Louis CK, Amy Schumer, Howie Mandel, Chelsea Handler, and Sebastian Maniscalco (mentioned in a comment). Of course, there are many more! Who did I miss?

Anyway, as discussed in our New Member Orientation for my networking group called…wait for it, THE Networking Group, here are some ways to be awesome!

Participate in Scheduled Events and Meetings Regularly

Register at the beginning of the month for all events you plan on attending.

Own Your Calendar

Block other meetings from interfering with registered meetings. Yes, sales meetings too!

Be Reliable and in Communication

Life happens, so stay in touch with organizers and leaders.

Be a Leader and Have Intention

Volunteer, get involved, take charge when appropriate, help, coach, learn, and teach.

Contribute Ideas, Demonstrate Energy, and Positivity

Focus on solutions and improvements that help everyone.

Invite Awesome Guests

Birds of a feather and all of that. Bring guests that make you look good!

Get to Know Fellow Members

Connect with those who have similar energy, target markets, and other business synergies.

Be Clear and Specific When Speaking

Be short, sweet, and to the point while honoring timeframes.

Utilize the Website and Available Resources

What are some other available ways of leveraging your membership?

Be Attentive, Listen, and Be Present (Minimal Multi-Tasking)

Take notes and make the meeting your priority.

Generate Quality Introductions and Referrals

Focus on ways to help fellow group members grow their business.

Follow Up ASAP

Act on everything you promised within 24 hours if possible.

Being Awesome Produces Awesome Results

Of course, these awesome ways of being should apply to all networking groups, meetings, and most business-related events. It’s amazing how many people don’t take advantage of simply being awesome.

Being awesome = awesome results!
