Attend with the intention of selling your products and services.

If this is your intention, you will not make the best impression with almost everyone you meet. Don’t be the person everyone avoids. The focus should be on learning, helping, developing relationships, and fun at networking events.

Complain about how networking doesn’t work for you.

Again, if you want to be the person almost everyone avoids, complain about everything at networking events. The people you will relate to will be other complainers!

Downplay the competition and other fellow attendees.

One of the best ways to downplay yourself is to downplay the competition. By promoting others, you often promote yourself!

Be positive, upbeat, giving, and fun when networking both on Zoom and in a room.

You are who you meet!
